Day 9 at Jane Packer

Today is our first floral market visit. New Covent Garden Market the place for florists. We start the day at 8am, meet at Vauxhall Station and took a short walk to the market. The market is really huge compare to the Beijing, is like heaven and hell. We got up to the 1st floor and had a good look at the ground level, 1st glance to the left is all the glass ware, vases... etc suppliers, on the right is all the floral supplier, very well organize, Beijing's market is more like a fish market.

Guess we were there late, no much people around. Just like in Beijing, most florists reach the market at 5.30am for the best stock and best buy. We had a hour and a half to tour around... I decide to get some sample back home, a Carbonate Scissor, knife, floral use wire, tape...etc

To my surprise the drift wood, branches, silver birch trunk is much cheaper than Beijing... Even the imported flower were much cheaper.  For Calla "Majestic Red", I almost pay double in Beijing...:( should find out the local flower range for replacement....

10.15am,  head back to Jane Packer for the lesson.

I actually quite like this contemporary look when you mix the arrangement with the "Bento Box arrangement".
